Parenting Questions: Answered!

This book is a tell-all compilation of pediatric knowledge on wellness, illness and parenting advice, told with humour and based on scientific evidence.

Author, Dr. Jeff Weisbrot, MD FRCP

It all started 11 years ago with an idea for a book to inform parents of the nuts and bolts of when to worry, which evolved into a lighthearted and evidence-based guideline to medical conditions and parenting tips. The book is divided into 4 parts : What is Normal, How to Parent, When to Worry and Where We’re Heading.

It is not a cookbook (although there’s some half baked stories in many chapters). There’s a little making fun of “parent questions” but the content is according to the present science we know with some 30 plus years experience.

This is the second edition, revised to fit with our times including the end of Blockbuster and the hopefully-soon-to-be resolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jeff continues to practice pediatrics in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He teaches medical students through the University of Toronto, is on staff at The Hospital for Sick Children and works in the Domestic Assault and Sexual Abuse team for York Region. He’s hosted a television call-in show and has contributed to the former medical magazine, Parkhust Exchange. Jeff now lives with his wife, whose practice as a child and adolescent psychiatrist has helped immeasurably with the contents of this book. His 3 grown-up children left the nest long ago, and are navigating their own paths in the world (wherever it may take them). Guss, his second golden retriever, has finally left his puppy stage and has inspired many of the disciplining chapters of “Should I Worry”.

Enjoy the read and lean into being a parent!
